Hey y’all!

Sorry for the almost 2 month hiatus on my blog. I’m horrible at this lol. I do have a good excuse to why I haven’t been around for a month and a half though! I GOT MARRIED! Yep, we did it. We sealed the deal on November 3rd 2017 and it couldn’t have been anymore perfect. I won’t go into details right now, because I plan to blog about the actual wedding day, details, etc on a separate blog..or two. The most important thing to share right now is that I’m a married woman! It still feels so surreal. I’m so not used to being a wife yet or telling people I’m married. I do know that it’s an amazing feeling though.

Aside from tying the knot. The husband and I have been on our honeymoon for the past 8 days. We got married on a Friday and flew to Hawaii that Monday. We had a few days to relax and pack, and boy are we glad we did that because we were pooped after the wedding. I don’t know how some couples could go on their honeymoon immediately following their wedding and sometimes that same night! Props to them!

Our honeymoon was so relaxing. We did a couple days in Maui and the rest of the trip in Oahu. I won’t go into too much detail about it yet, because I also want to make a separate post on the honeymoon.

That’s that! There’s my update for you. It’s a good excuse for being MIA right? I promise I will try to get back to my blog asap. As soon as we get settled in again. We actually flew home last night and have a one day break, which is today (aka laundry, unpacking and repacking) because we’re going to do a part 2 honeymoon in Southern California. The husband and I are still on vacation so we figure we might as well take advantage. We will be driving out there early tomorrow morning and spending about 4 days there, just to top off the honeymoon. That being said, brb and I’ll be back soon! 🙂

Picked up THE dress!

I’m fully aware that my blog has ended up being majority wedding related, but you guys….36 DAYS TO GO! Ahhh! Yes, I had to look it up on our wedding website just to be sure. So, as you can see from this blog title, I did, in fact, pick up THE dress today! My cousin Dee (who is also one of my bridesmaids) accompanied me, which worked out perfectly because I needed to have someone there to learn how to bustle the dress. My appointment was at 11am and we were out of there in less than half an hour. The kind man that helped us took the dress out and had me try it on and it fit like a glove. It felt so much better wearing it altered to me and my body. The length was perfect and the fit was perfect. It was a quick and easy transaction. The countdown continues. It’s getting SO real.

Bridal Shower – Details!

My bridal shower has been a week and half out, but I’m still dreaming about it. I wanted to make a separate post about the details of the shower because they were too cute and definitely deserved their own post. My sister and bridesmaids did such a great job with everything. I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome! Continue reading

My Bridal Shower!

WARNING: Long post

Its been almost a week since I celebrated my bridal shower and I miss it so much! It was on 09/16/17 in the cutest venue called Avenue in SF. When I came across this venue during my search, I knew it was the one. After my sister booked the venue, the planning began and I was banned from the whole process lol. She asked me what themes I had in mind and what kind of food I wanted to serve and that was it. It was a tough month or so of silence from my sister and my bridesmaids. When it comes to planning events, parties, gatherings and trips I’m usually the one that is most involved, so not being able to help or have a say in things was extremely difficult. On top of that, the thought of having a party for me is not something I’m used to. I’ve had only a few parties thrown for me my whole life, the last one being my cotillion, over 10 years ago! Otherwise, having something for me is not something I’m used to.

The bridal party, Raf, my mom and Raf’s mom headed to the venue around noon to set up. I had to wait around at home and was not able to leave until 1:15ish. Not to mention, I woke up around 7am that morning of pure excitement! My brother dropped me off and I arrived at around 1:30pm. As soon as I walked in, I was in awe. I could not believe what I was seeing. The decor, the set up, the photobooth (I’ll get to that later)…everything looked amazing! I was blown away. Continue reading

Wedding Meetings

It has been a crazy year so far with all the wedding planning going on, but it’s coming along quite well. Before I got engaged, I attended a ton of weddings and almost every bride said that they wished they invested in a wedding planner. You better believe the moment Raf and I got engaged, that was the first order of business for us.

Within 2 weeks, we found a wedding planner and she has been awesome! She helps us with everything we need, books appointments, makes suggestions, gives advices, keeps us on track, helps us stay within budget, and regularly checks in with us with updates. I seriously don’t know what I would do without her.

A big, important part of wedding planning has been coordinating meetings whether it be through the phone, e-mails or in person. Having meetings for the wedding on a regular basis is vital and important because it helps keep everyone updated and on track of things. Continue reading

Family Dinner-Kamayan Style

Nowadays, it seems to be uncommon to sit down and have a family dinner. The quick, always on-the-move lifestyle is something we’ve all been accustomed to. In our household, we all have different schedules. There are days we don’t talk at all. Because of this, we made it a point to have sit-down family dinners at least once a week. These dinners help us to talk, get away from our phones, fellowship and just enjoy each other’s company. Continue reading

Holy wow. I have not blogged in such a long time. I have been extremely busy due to work, wedding planning, life and other things that I totally put my blog on the back burner. But, I am back! Let’s see how long this lasts 🙂

Since, it has been so long since I last made an entry, I figured the best way to go about this one is to give an update of what’s been going on this past month and half. Continue reading
