Happy Monday, ya’ll! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, because I know I did. This past Saturday, my little sister’s boyfriend of 5 years proposed to her and my siblings, husband, close friend and I were there to witness it. It started off as a morning hike at Kirby Cove in Sausalito where we ended up on a beautiful beach with gorgeous views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge. My sister’s boyfriend told us his plans to propose when my husband and I got back from our honeymoon in Hawaii, right before we left for SoCal. So, it’s been about a month. This past week, he told us he was planning to pop the question this weekend and wanted us to be there. We were honored!

The plan was to propose at the end of the hike so he could get views of the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, but he stalled for a bit and we knew he was nervous lol. He was pretty good at hiding it though, but since we all had an idea, we could tell he was holding back and also because he wanted to find the perfect time to do it. Finally, as we were heading back up, my brother, who had his brand new DSLR with him, made my sis the subject of his shot. My sis thought nothing of it because they’ve been going shooting together for a while now. He asked her to post facing the bridge and as she was looking away, my sister’s boyfriend got on one knee and proposed! It was such a beautiful sight and we were all so happy for them. My sister didn’t cry, surprisingly (because she cries easily, like me). She told me that it was just a feeling she had never felt before and didn’t know how to react. I knew exactly what she was talking about. That feeling of shock, excitement, pure happiness all at once. It’s a great feeling, but hard to describe in one word. We were just so glad we were able to witness such a huge event in their lives. Definitely something we will never forget.

After we headed up, my sister’s bf (now fianc√©) planned to have brunch/lunch, but we had to head back home to prepare for our annual Christmas party with more of our close friends #teamido aka #teamwhatdidido lol. We had a great time, as usual. Celebrated with good company, good food and good conversation. Good times.

Yes, I know. Thanksgiving was so last week, and yet again, this blog post is late lol. Hey! It hasn’t been a FULL week (or month) late this time so it’s all good. Anyway, if you know me, my favorite season is fall and my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. There’s just something about it that makes me feel at home. I love the whole, waking up early to prep the turkey and getting it in the oven. I love the ALL DAY prep for dinner. I love turning on the TV and watching the Macy’s day parade. I love blasting and singing Christmas music as the whole family is working together to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. I love watching the football games. I love the food and getting major food comas after the meal, then taking a family nap, waking up from that nap, and eating all over again. I LOVE IT ALL.¬†This year was just as exciting, but maybe even more so because it was mine and Raf’s 1st Thanksgiving as husband and wife. I know we’ve had many, many Thanksgivings together with all the years we’ve dated, but this year was different. A good kind of different.

Raf’s mother and her boyfriend hosted Thanksgiving this year so we all headed there for lunch. We had an amazing spread, great conversation, and of course, great company. Afterwards, Raf and I headed home because we had Thanksgiving dinner at our house and I had to prep a few more things before dinner. Once again, more food, more food comas, and a great time.

There’s so much to be thankful for. This year has been such an amazing year and it’s not even over yet. Raf and I started the year off engaged and I had been working a few months at my job. The wedding planning began, my sister graduated college, and I got married…just to name a few things. My family is complete, my heart is full, and we are truly blessed. God is so good. Of course I’m thankful and grateful everyday, but Thanksgiving is special because it is a day where we can reflect on the countless blessings in our lives with our families. We have about a month left of the year and I know that it’ll be great!
