Yes, you read that right. Our official wedding video is finally here! The husband and I watched it together and it brought us back. Of course, I cried. It made us miss our wedding day so much more than we already do. Our video was shot and edited by the talents of DP Weddings and we could not be anymore happier with the outcome! To be completely honest, hiring a videographer was the last thing on our minds when it came to the wedding planning, but in the end, we decided to hire one because even though a photographer is extremely important (these will be your forever photos), the video gives a whole other feeling when you watch it. Each clip brings you back to that exact moment and you get to see it unfold before your very eyes in a form of a short video. DP Weddings did such a great job because they literally incorporated every part of the wedding into a 4 minute video. We were amazed! The song we chose for the video was Take the World by JohnnySwim, which was also our first dance and that made our video that much more special. Check it out in the link below!
Yes, you read that right. Our wedding photos are in! It was 2 days ago, on Dec 2nd that I got an e-mail from our photographer (Melissa Atle) saying that our gallery was complete. I was at work and I was so excited! I immediately told Raf and he made me wait until I got home to see them so that we could look at them together. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to do lol. I was only a couple hours in my shift and had to wait 5+ hours to get home.
After I finally got home, Raf and I sat down and looked through every single photo together. We smiled, laughed, giggled and made our own commentaries looking through the photos. It brought us back to that very day, November 3 2017, when we tied the knot. We felt like we were there again. We felt every photo and remembered each moment as it happened.
Our photographer, Melissa Atle, and her 2nd photographer, Kristen, were a dream to work with. They were ninjas throughout the day. They took shots we didn’t even know they were able to take. They captured every single emotion that day. Booking her was easily one of the best decisions we made during our wedding, and trust me, wedding planning requires a whole lot of decision making. Married couples got my back. One thing I should also mention is that we got our gallery only 4 weeks after our wedding. I mean, seriously?! I’ve heard stories where people had to wait months and got to the point of having to follow up on their wedding photos with their photographer! 4 weeks has to be some kind of record, lol. Lucky us! Lastly, we were so grateful to have received the photos a day before we celebrated our first month of marriage. The timing was absolutely perfect. It came right on time and we’re so happy we were able to look back and reflect on one month together through our wedding photos. That being said, here are a few sneak peak photos from our wedding day!
Raf and I celebrated our bachelor/bachelor weekend on October 21, two weeks before the wedding. The reason I mention it now, is because I JUST edited the vlog, lol.
Our celebrations happened to be planned the same day, but that wasn’t planned to be the same day. Raf’s bachelor party was jam packed. The guys took him go karting in the morning, followed by brunch. Then they headed over to the shooting range, then the golf range, and finally, dinner at Simmer in SF. The girls and I on the other hand had a full day as well. We started off at The English Rose Tea Room in Pleasanton, followed by wine tasting at Murietta’s Well in Livermore. Then we checked into our hotel and got ready for dinner at Tri Valley Bistro in Pleasanton and had dessert at O’Honey in Dublin. Shout out our wedding party, especially our Best Man (Kuya Rodel) and Maid of Honor (Yvette) for sending us off in such a fun way!
Check out the vlog below to see how it went down!
I’m fully aware that my blog has ended up being majority wedding related, but you guys….36 DAYS TO GO! Ahhh! Yes, I had to look it up on our wedding website just to be sure. So, as you can see from this blog title, I did, in fact, pick up THE dress today! My cousin Dee (who is also one of my bridesmaids) accompanied me, which worked out perfectly because I needed to have someone there to learn how to bustle the dress. My appointment was at 11am and we were out of there in less than half an hour. The kind man that helped us took the dress out and had me try it on and it fit like a glove. It felt so much better wearing it altered to me and my body. The length was perfect and the fit was perfect. It was a quick and easy transaction. The countdown continues. It’s getting SO real.
WARNING: Long post
Its been almost a week since I celebrated my bridal shower and I miss it so much! It was on 09/16/17 in the cutest venue called Avenue in SF. When I came across this venue during my search, I knew it was the one. After my sister booked the venue, the planning began and I was banned from the whole process lol. She asked me what themes I had in mind and what kind of food I wanted to serve and that was it. It was a tough month or so of silence from my sister and my bridesmaids. When it comes to planning events, parties, gatherings and trips I’m usually the one that is most involved, so not being able to help or have a say in things was extremely difficult. On top of that, the thought of having a party for me is not something I’m used to. I’ve had only a few parties thrown for me my whole life, the last one being my cotillion, over 10 years ago! Otherwise, having something for me is not something I’m used to.
The bridal party, Raf, my mom and Raf’s mom headed to the venue around noon to set up. I had to wait around at home and was not able to leave until 1:15ish. Not to mention, I woke up around 7am that morning of pure excitement! My brother dropped me off and I arrived at around 1:30pm. As soon as I walked in, I was in awe. I could not believe what I was seeing. The decor, the set up, the photobooth (I’ll get to that later)…everything looked amazing! I was blown away. Continue reading
